Extensive possibilities of colors and textures are available to you when making yarn ornaments. Choose your favorite and create many small yarn pom-poms, either solid or multi-colored, to hang from the tree branches. Insert the bottom of an ornament hook through the knotted piece of yarn that secures the center of the pom-pom in order to hang.
Other ways you can decorate a bird house is with mosaic art. You can buy tiles or glass beads 0.4mm and glue them to the bird house with waterproof glue (see my waterproof glass glue recipe here). Or you can use stones, shells, buttons, bottle caps or whatever you can think of for your mosaic art. You can even use things like broken glass. Breaking sentimental plates or glasses and using them for mosaic art is a great way to keep the glassware but to make space in your cabinets! Break them up and glue them to a bird house! Just be careful that you do not cut yourself in the process. Always break the glass inside a bag that is covered by a towel (then tap with a hammer) and sand the edges (wear gloves while sanding).
Another change was in the materials that were used to make these markings. Obviously, paint was used when the first pavement markings were made. The first of these pavement markings was simply a white center line painted on the road. When yellow was mandated as the color of choice for center lines, road workers had to resort to using lead chromate paint because of the material’s insolubility in water and its bright yellow color. Because of the toxicity of lead chromate, workers had to take extra precautions when having to remove road markings which used these materials.
You can also use polymer clay to make a picture or photo frame of your choice. Using this material is extremely easy and with the use of knives, pencils and carving tools you can make an amazing piece. Once you have made the design place it in an oven at 250 degrees for half an hour. Now it is ready to be decorated. With things like paints, beads, sequins and glitter, you can make beautiful item. You can also attach them to the wooden ones with hot glue gun.

Bead size can seem quite confusing if one is not familiar with the three units of measurement. Some manufacturers measure beads in aughts, which refers to the number of beads able to fit into a standard unit. Others use millimeters and still other bead manufacturers use a beads per inch measurement. The most common size of seed bead is 11/0 or eleven-aught. In millimeters that is 1.8, and 20 beads per inch. In bulk form, seed beads are sold either by ‘hanks’ or by grams. A hank is a bundle or 12 strands of 20 inches of strung beads. Japanese beads in particular are sold in grams.
