Herpes in the throat is an unusual ailment. This ailment can be caused by either of both viruses, which are involved with herpes – Herpes Simplex Virus-1 (HSV-1), or Herpes Simplex Virus-2 (HSV2), depending on the source of illness. After the disease has been healed, the varicella zoster virus stays in a dormant state and settles into the cells of the nervous system. It can consequently reactivate and change somebody anytime. It’s this reactivation after a bout of chickenpox that leads to a painful rash referred to as herpes zoster. Interestingly, just those individuals who have had chickenpox can be changed by this ailment. If a person has not had chickenpox and is changed by the virus, he will only develop chickenpox and not herpes zoster.
Most individuals who have genital herpes are unaware that they’ve been infected. CDC reports that about 81 percent of individuals between 49 and 14 with genital herpes have not been diagnosed with the ailment. This is because most infections cause either no symptoms or mild symptoms that can easily be credited to something different.
